Our modern American mindset is fixated on the importance of “The Vintage” isn’t it? We tend to assume that making a vintage wine equals the highest quality because, well, that’s what everyone does right? In our exploration of the meaning of quality here at the winery we are willing to throw out the labels and assumptions and ask a different set of questions — can a wine be “better”/more interesting/have greater complexity if more than one vintage is in the bottle? Can we achieve a more consistent style from release-to-release by blending vintages? We feel that every so often this is the case, so if you “NV” when perusing the Cima Collina wine shop, expand your palate and give the wine a try!
