Meet Michele Gogliucci, our community liaison, business development specialist, sales and event guru, and brainstormer extraordinaire. She has worked closely with Annette over the past several years to welcome more guests into our Cima Circle through tasting experiences, group tours, events and the opening of our new Tasting Lounge at the Marina Winery. On her days off you can find Michele outdoors hiking, spending time with her 2 grandchildren, cooking or simply hanging with friends.
We recently sat down to learn a bit more about Michele and her interest in the wine:
What is your favorite Cima Collina wine? My go to for red is our Swan Pinot and I love our 2017 Chenin Blanc. Our Pet Nat is awesome too!
What brought you to Cima Collina? A dear winemaker friend introduced me to Annette and Cima Collina and I thought it would be a wonderful team to be a part of. At that time Annette was wanting to grow the winery with more event marketing, so it all fell into place!
How do you want customers to feel when they walk into an event at the winery or tasting room? Welcomed and comfortable … And when they leave? Thinking they can’t wait to come back.
White, red or rosé? Favorite varietal? I don’t have a favorite really. Much of what I do is based on my mood and wine is the same. Time of day…..food….special occasion….
What do you think is the biggest misconception about wine? That red wine is for meat and white for fish. It really is personal taste and the intensity of the flavors. I’ve had our Antle Swan Pinot paired with swordfish and it was wonderful!
If you weren’t in Monterey County, which wine region lures you to wine taste and why? I really enjoy the Santa Barbara region (if I’m not going to Europe!). I love the smaller intimate wineries and there are plenty of them in that region. Along with fun spots just outside of Santa Barbara, such as Los Alamos… A little hidden gem and off the beaten track. Great weather and eats too!
Is there a special wine that you dream of tasting someday? I don’t know about a particular wine I dream about but I do love the French white burgundy wines, so I wouldn’t mind indulging in a few special ones!
